GENESIS 47 PHARAOH WELCOMES JACOB-

GENESIS 47                                                                   JACOB FAMILY SETTLES IN EGYPT


1.       What information did Joseph gave to Pharaoh about his father and brothers? (Gen. 47: 1).

       Ans: Joseph went and informed Pharaoh: "My father and my brothers, with their sheep          and cattle and all that they have, have come from the land of Canaan and are now in the           land of Goshen."

2.        What request did Joseph’s brothers make to Pharaoh?
                         
      Ans: "We have come to live in the land for a while because there is no grazing land for           your servants' sheep, since the famine in the land of Canaan has been severe. So now,              please let your servants settle in the land of Goshen."

3.       What did Pharaoh said to Joseph, regarding living arrangements for Joseph’s                                 family?  (Gen. 47: 6) 
       
         Ans:  The land of Egypt is open before you; settle your father and brothers in the best             part of the land. They can live in the land of Goshen.

4.       What work did Pharaoh said to Josephs’ family to do for him? (Gen. 47: 6)
      
        Ans: "If you know of any capable men among them, put them in charge of my                          livestock.

5.        How old was Jacob when he met Pharaoh? (Gen.47. 9)  
                     
       Ans: 130 years.

6.        At the time of his departure, what did Jacob do for Pharaoh? (Gen.47:10)                                  

            Ans: Jacob blessed Pharaoh and departed from Pharaoh's presence.

  7.       Where did Israel settle? 
                                            
           Ans: Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the region of Goshen (Gen.47: 27).



8.        How long did Jacob live with Joseph in Egypt?  (Gen. 47: 28).
                             
        Ans:  The last 17 years of his life.



9.   
How long did Abraham, Isaac and Jacob lived? (Gen. 47: 28).
                       
        Ans: Abraham 175 years. Isaac 180 years and Jacob 147 years.

10.   
What favor did Jacob placed before Joseph to make? (Gen. 47: 29-30).
        
       Ans: “Do not bury me in Egypt, but when I rest with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt          and bury me where they are buried”

11.   What Joseph answered? 
                                                   
       Ans: “I will do what you have asked.”
