GENESIS   15   GOD’S COVENANT WITH ABRAM

1.   What promise did God give Abram? (Gen 15:1)
        Ans: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great                    reward.”

 2.If Abram had remained childless, who would have inherited his estate? (Gen.15:2).
Ans:  Eliezer of Damascus.

3.What problem did Abram have regarding God’s promise, and what solution  did he propose? (Gen.15: 2, 3)
Ans:  Abram said, Lord GOD, “You have given me no offspring; indeed one born   in my house Eliezer of Damascus is my heir!”

 4.What did God say about Abram’s solution? (Gen.15: 4)
Ans:  “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body  shall be your heir.”

 5.What promise did God give Abram in Genesis 15:5?
Ans:  Abram's descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky!

 6.Abram believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him as what? (Gen.15:6)
Ans:  Righteousness.

 7.“Abraham believed in God……” (Gen. 15:6) It is quoted three times in the New Testament. Give the references?
Ans:  Romans 4:3, Galatians 3:6 “, James 2:23-24

 8.God told Abram that his descendants would be enslaved for how long?(Gen.15:13)
Ans:  400 years.

 9. What would be the boundaries of the land that would be given to Abram's     descendants? (Gen. 15:18)
Ans:  “….  land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates.

 10.  What would happen to the nation whom they serve?   
 Ans:  God will judge them.

 11.  Afterward what will happen to Abram’s descendants? 
Ans:  They shall come out with great possessions”.

12.  What would happen to Abram’s descendants in the 4th generation? (Gen. 15:16)
Ans:  They shall come out with great possessions.

 13.  What did God mean in when he said, “For the iniquity of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure”? (Gen. 15:16)
Ans:  The Amorites were not yet evil enough for God to destroy. (God wants wicked people to change and become righteous. (Ezekiel 18:23).

 14.  What covenant did God make with Abram (vv 18-21)? 
Ans:  “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates.
