GENESIS 14                                                                           SOJOURNS IN SODOM

1.     After departing with Abram, where Lot lived?
        Ans:  “He lived in Sodom (Gen. 14:12)

2.     What was Abram called in verse 13? 
       Ans:   Abraham, the Hebrew.

3    After leaving Abram, what happened to Lot and his family at Sodom?
       Ans:  They were captured in a battle and carried off by King Kedorlaomer           (Gen. 14:12).

4    How Abram saved Lot from those enemies and brought back to his home?
       Ans:  Abram took his   318 trained men, born in his house and chased King          Kedorlaomer's army and rescued Lot and his entire household.

5.    "Who was Melchizedek?  (“King of righteousness,”)
         Ans:  He was a king of Salem (Jerusalem) and priest of the Most High God          (Gen.14:18–20) [He is presented as a type of Christ. (Psl. 110:4; Heb.5:6–11;               6:20—7:28). “Without father or mother,” (Heb.  7:3)].

6.     What is the meaning of the name “Melchizedek”?
          Ans:  The name "Melchizedek" comes from a Hebrew phrase “mal'chi                   tzedek”,  which literally means “my king is righteous".                                              Paul in Hebrews 7:2 clarifies that the name means "king of righteousness".

7.     What two things did Melchizedek brought to Abram? (Gen.14:18)
       Ans:  Bread and wine.

8.    What blessing did Melchizedek Pronounce? (Gen. 14: 19,20)
      Ans:  “Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and               earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine                     enemies into thy hand”

9     .What did Abram do for Melchizedek?
       Ans:  Then Abram gave him a tenth (tithe) of all. (14: 20)
10.      What the King of Sodom said unto Abraham? (Gen. 14:21)
        Ans:  “Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself”.
11.    What was Abram’s response?  (Gen. 14:22-24)
  
        Ans:  That ….. I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have            made Abram rich: ….
