GENESIS 23 BURIAL OF SARAH, ISAAC AND   REBEKAH


1.  How old was Sarah when she died?

Ans:  127 years old.


2.   Where did she died? (Gen. 23:19)

Ans:  She died in Kiriath-arba (Hebron), in the land of Canaan.


3.  Who answered to whom?  “..you are a mighty prince among us”: (Gen. 23:6)

Ans:  The sons of Heth answered Abraham.


4. Who has purchased a cemetery first?

Ans: Abraham

5.  What site Abraham purchased as a family burial place?(Gen. 23:16-20)

Ans: Abraham bought a field of Ephron, the descendants of Ham and he buried Sarah, his wife in the cave of   Machpelah: The same is Hebron in the Land of Canaan.   (Note: This is the first piece of land Abraham got in Canaan).

6.  Who all were buried in “the cave of the field of Machpelah”?

Ans:  Sarah (23:19), Abraham (25:9), Isaac, Rebekah, Leah and Jacob.


7.  Who is Nahor? (Gen.  22:20-24).

Ans:  The second son of Terah.  [i.e. Abram the oldest, Nahor and Haran, the youngest” - [Gen.11:22].


8.    What was the name of Nahor’s wife? 

  Ans:  Milkah (Gen. 11:29)


9.   How many children Nahor and Milkah   had?                                                                                                          Ans:  Eight children.


10.  Who is the father of Rebekah? Gen. (22:20-24).                                                                                                          Ans:   Bethuel


11.     How Rebekah was related to Abraham and Isaac? what more about her?(Gen. 22: 15,11:27-29)


Ans:  Rebekah was the daughter of Bethuel, the son that Milkah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother (v.47, 24:15),   Laban’s sister (28:5), she become Isaac's wife, and Mother of Esau and Jacob.
